Painting with Jello

I bought this paint at Michael's, a brand called 'Artist's Loft". I was wanting to get back into gouache and the box said 'gouache'. Or, to be more precise, 'jelly gouache'. It was big box, too, with generous wells of paint – how could I resist? 'Jelly' as it turned out, was exactly that once you peeled off the protective tops. Like thick Jello and totally unlike any other paint I'd used. OK, no problem until I read some reviews online and saw photos of what happens to the jelly after a couple of weeks. It grows mold. Fuzzy, grey, icky mold. Ew!! I decided to leave the protective coverings off most of them and just let things dry out. It's still very useable, just like regular gouache once you get it wet. Below is the dried out paint, ready to be re-activated. I'll spare you any photos of moldy jelly gouache.
