Death of an Old Goat
This had something to do with "Death of a Salesman" but I can't remember what.
I do notice a problem with the India ink – believe it or not, India inks are not all matching black. For instance, I still own two bottles of the vintage stuff: Pelikan #17 and Pelikan #50. You cannot buy either any more – ink can be bought of course, but not in this quantity and not with this formula. My instructor Carel Moiseivitch, who was a master of India ink, told us that the formulas had been changed and were no longer as robust. The gorgeous old inks were no doubt victims of production costs – or, just as likely – some sort of health warning. (Carel told us that the old formula India inks could wreck sable brushes after a time).
This drawing used both technical pen and brush dipped in the ink, which would now be an extravagant use of an ink one can no longer get. I can tell the two kinds were used here.

#17 and #50 Both of these are black ink, but the yellow label is not as dense as the blue label. Both are very old bottles, circa the 80s, saved, husbanded and doled out – literally from an eyedropper -- to my precious technical pens.
