The Bus - War Damage
"I got to know the city really well while I was there. I love history and it always humbles me to stand where amazing things once happened. I was our Colonel's driver so I had my own SUV to use as needed. I would take visiting officers and whoever else was interested around the city to view all the damage we had seen reported on the news. Cool and disturbing and ... always sobering. Even though the war had been over for years, the tension was palpable and the war damage was still fresh and untouched . . . just a bit grown over."
