Road Trip to San Francisco, 1978 part 2

More shots from the first time I went to California. We had very little money, but I don't recall being anxious about that. So long as I had enough to buy a coffee or breakfast here and there I was content. We survived by crashing with friends Terry knew who fed us, drove us around and demanded little in return.

Can't remember what park this was but it was a beautiful day. We might have been waiting to score some dope, which was easy enough to obtain if you kept an eye out for police.
Although I doubt if Terry and I could afford to eat at the Strand (in the background) it was one of the mainstays in the area. I ate there with friends during return trips many times. I was taking the shot of these two boys and have completely forgotten why.
Faithful Readers may remember this shot from a previous post. Long before cell phones and the internet, bulletin boards and pay phones were a common and necessary way to contact people. Catch the penny weight machine at the right!
Cashier at what I'm pretty sure was the Cafe Trieste near Coit Tower. Check out the food stamps list and prices!!
Same park as above. Stripes with a Hawaiian print? What was I thinking
