Vancouver Island Kids

Kids are more fun to photograph than adults because they're less self conscious. I wish I could still take random kid photos but you really shouldn't these days. You could get mistaken for a creep plus people are understandably suspicious of where a photo can wind up on social media.
I was using my favourite lens here, the 135 mm. The 135 was perfect for taking people shots – it let you get close without getting in their face, and wasn't as intimidating as a big telephoto.
These were the children of some people I knew during my tree planting days circa 1974 or so. They were gentle kids, very willing to have their pictures taken.
