My Big Fat Stupid Colostomy
I was diagnosed with colorectal cancer in 2001 when I was 49. Surgery, chemo and radiation: the full meal deal. It was very dark time. My mom said I should draw a cartoon story about it and "make it funny!" At the time I didn't see anything funny at all about any of it. Then several years later in 2006, I started to draw. I drew the whole story off and on, over the course of the next 8 years. Some of it is serious but I found the funny as I went along. Humor, especially black humor, has the power to heal.
Oh, and those other stories? You've already read some of them here!
