Miss Diamonds

This is not a true story. Well, parts of it are true, but you'll have to guess which ones. I did this series over a couple of years experimenting with different materials – goache, watercolor, pen and ink, watercolor pencil crayon, even chalk pastel. I didn't mean to make a story until I saw that the different panels, with a bit of added text, could be woven into a story. La Mome Bijou (literally, 'The Jewell Kid') was featured in my favorite Brassai book of photographs, 'Brassai, The Secret Paris of the 30s'.
This is a 14 part story, which will run consecutively for two weeks.
