Sometime in the early 80s, I stopped doing black and white photography. The process of developing negatives and printing photos in a home darkroom had become so onerous and time-consuming I began to gravitate to colour photography slides. Let someone else do the developing!
The explosion of easy-to-use cameras and iPhones with their instant gratification has made developing and printing of photos all but extinct. A few pockets still exist where one can buy the chemicals and equipment to do it yourself but it's now a niche market.
