Chilling Barge

The barge, which was affectionately named 'Chilling Barge' (once it became clear it wasn't going to leave on its own), ran aground on Nov. 15, 2021. Strong winds, rough seas and a high tide caused it to break loose and drift, narrowly missing crashing into the Burrard Bridge, before running aground on this portion of English Bay. After attempts to refloat the barge failed, it became a fixture at the site. It was eventually dismantled and removed during the summer of 2022.
