Cat Cafe
Tokyo, 2017
This was taken in the Shinjuku district, a wild cacophony of shops, giant stores, technology, blinking flashing neon and colossal signage. Interspersed with all this were 'Cat Cafes', quiet little oasis where one could, for a fee, enter and play with cats. Japan has an unusual relationship with cats. For example, it wouldn't be unusual to see a cat, fully dressed, in a stroller. Outside this particular cafe, you could buy a cat hat from a vending machine, presumably to adorn your temporary companion while you spent time with him or her.
200 Yen is about $2.00 Cdn for 10 minutes. I would have gone in but the line up was too long!!
