3 Boys

2012, Soweto, South Africa
We did a bicycle tour through several districts in Soweto, including a slum. Our guides were local fellows and although some of the areas we went through were rough, we never felt threatened. Indeed, the people whose homes we passed by either ignored us or were curious, like these kids. We were bringing money into a local business and they knew our guides so I am guessing this is why we encountered no hostility. Oddly enough, the only areas where we encountered unpleasant behavior were the more affluent ones!
